THE LITTLEST DOG IN CLASS
A new dog stood
at the schoolroom door,
shaking and quite shy.
No one had seen him there before.
The littlest dog in class.
His eyes were wide
as he stood on his toes
to accept his training collar.
Could he make it do you suppose?
The littlest dog in class.
He cocks his ears
as he takes his place.
He shakes a stubby tail.
For such a serious lesson,
such a comical face?
The littlest dog in class.
Some dogs are big.
Some dogs are strong.
Some stoutly stand apart.
But it's a hero in pint size
that steals my heart.
The littlest dog in class.
